Some love stories feel like they were meant to be told.

James and Paige’s story started in a place neither of them probably expected. James, a firefighter, was severely burned on the job, and Paige was the nurse who cared for him during his recovery. In the middle of an incredibly difficult chapter, they found each other and somehow, that difficult season became the beginning of something incredibly beautiful.

This September, I had the absolute honor of photographing the next chapter of their story: their wedding day.

Getting Ready by the Water

The day began at Paige’s mom’s home, in the beautiful waterfront condos near Giorgio’s in Baiting Hollow. With the water just steps away, it was the perfect setting for a relaxed and meaningful morning.

There was something especially sweet about photographing Paige getting ready surrounded by the people closest to her. Between the excitement, the little details, the laughter, and those quiet moments before walking down the aisle, you could feel that the day was finally here.

And, of course, having the water nearby gave us some gorgeous opportunities for portraits and those in-between moments that make a wedding gallery feel like a complete story.

Saying “I Do” in Cutchogue

From Paige’s mom’s house, everyone headed to their church in Cutchogue to officially become husband and wife.

Their ceremony was filled with so much meaning, especially knowing the story that brought them to this moment. Watching James and Paige stand together after everything they had already experienced made the day feel even more special.

There are some wedding moments that don't need much direction. You simply step back and let the emotion happen. This was definitely one of those days.

Celebrating at The Vineyards at Aquebogue

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at The Vineyards at Aquebogue.

The rest of the day was everything a wedding should be. Celebrating with the people they love, plenty of laughter, happy tears, dancing, and all of the little moments that make a wedding uniquely yours.

It was such a joy watching James and Paige soak it all in and finally get to celebrate this chapter of their lives together.

A Love Story Worth Celebrating

From a chance meeting during one of the hardest moments of James' life to standing together on their wedding day, their story is a pretty incredible reminder that sometimes the most unexpected chapters can lead us exactly where we're meant to be.

James & Paige, thank you for trusting me to document such an important part of your story. It was an absolute honor to be there from the beginning of this chapter and to capture all of the moments you'll be able to look back on for years to come.

Your love is pretty damn special and I'm so happy I got to photograph it.

Congratulations, James & Paige! Here's to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, and choosing each other through every chapter.
