Memorial Day weekend is often known for sunshine, backyard barbecues, and the unofficial start of summer. This year, however, Mother Nature had other plans. Rain poured down across Long Island all weekend long but if there's one thing I've learned as a wedding photographer, it's that love doesn't care about the weather.

Despite the constant rain, I had the honor of photographing two incredible weddings back-to-back, and both days were filled with so much joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Samantha & Christian | Stonebridge Country Club

Saturday's celebration brought me to Stonebridge Country Club, where Samantha and Christian tied the knot surrounded by their family and friends. While the rain kept us on our toes throughout the day, it never put a damper on the excitement.

Samantha looked absolutely stunning, and Christian couldn't stop smiling every time he looked at her. The energy from their guests was contagious, and the entire day felt like one big celebration of two people who are truly meant for each other.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is seeing how couples handle the unexpected. Instead of stressing over the weather, Samantha and Christian embraced every moment and focused on what mattered most, getting married.

Now, as I write this, they're off on the adventure of a lifetime, enjoying their honeymoon in Africa. I can't think of a more exciting way to begin married life together.

Kate & David | Watermill Caterers

The rain continued into Sunday morning as I arrived at Watermill Caterers for Kate and David's wedding. Even with gray skies and umbrellas nearby, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of love.

There is something so special about a morning wedding. The pace feels different, in the best possible way. Guests arrived excited and refreshed, and the entire celebration had a calm, intimate feeling that perfectly reflected Kate and David's relationship.

Watermill Caterers provided a beautiful backdrop for the day, and despite the weather outside, every room was filled with light, laughter, and happy tears. Watching Kate and David celebrate with their loved ones reminded me that the best wedding moments rarely come from perfect conditions. They come from genuine connections, heartfelt emotions, and being surrounded by the people who matter most.

When Rain Becomes Part of the Story

If there was one common theme throughout both weddings, it was resilience. Rain was in the forecast, rain showed up, and rain stayed all weekend long. But neither couple let it steal a single moment from their wedding day.

In fact, some of my favorite photographs from the weekend happened because of the weather. Cozy indoor moments, romantic umbrella portraits, and the way everyone came together to make the best of the conditions created memories that felt uniquely theirs.

The truth is, years from now, Samantha & Christian and Kate & David won't remember every weather update they checked that weekend. They'll remember how they felt. They'll remember the laughter, the happy tears, the dance floor moments, and the excitement of beginning a new chapter together.

And that's exactly what makes a wedding day beautiful.

To Samantha & Christian and Kate & David—thank you for trusting me to document your incredible celebrations. Rain and all, it was a weekend I'll never forget.
