Some sessions just hit differently and this one was one of them.
Last night, I met up with one of my past couples for something incredibly special: their pregnancy announcement. We chose a place that already held so much meaning in their story, Robert Moses. It’s where I first photographed their proposal, where we later captured their engagement session, and a location that’s been woven into their journey from the very beginning.
Getting to return to that same stretch of beach, now documenting the next chapter of their lives, felt like such a full-circle moment.
There’s something really powerful about photographing milestones for the same couple over time. You’re not just showing up as a vendor. You’re someone who’s been trusted to document their story as it grows. From the excitement of a proposal, to the energy of their wedding day, and now the quiet, meaningful anticipation of becoming parents… it’s an honor I don’t take lightly.
Since their wedding, they’ve also sent so many amazing couples my way, which makes it even more special. Referrals like that mean everything in this business. It tells me they valued not just the photos, but the experience we created together.
This session felt calm, emotional, and deeply personal. No big production. Just the two of them, the ocean, and the beginning of something new.
These are the kinds of moments that remind me why I do what I do. Not just to capture one day, but to be there for the story as it continues to unfold.
