This past weekend was one for the books. Filled with love stories, happy tears, a little rain, and one unforgettable celebration.
I kicked things off all the way out in Montauk at Camp Hero for the first proposal of the season there, and it could not have been a better way to start. With the lighthouse standing tall in the background and the ocean breeze setting the scene, he asked the biggest question of his life. These two have been together for 9 years after meeting back in high school, and you could feel just how much history and love they shared in that moment. There is something so special about photographing couples who have truly grown up together. Every look, every laugh, every tear means that much more.
From Montauk, I headed to Planting Fields in Oyster Bay for another proposal that looked a little different but somehow felt even more magical. The rain decided to make an appearance, but honestly, it made the entire moment feel straight out of a movie. Umbrellas, happy tears, and that romantic rainy-day energy made it unforgettable. This couple had been together for 8 years after meeting in college, and after all those years together, the proposal felt like the perfect next chapter. Sometimes the weather doesn’t go as planned, but those are often the moments that become the most memorable.
To wrap up the weekend, I traded surprise proposals for a huge celebration at All-In-One-Events in New Hyde Park for Gina’s 60th Birthday Party. The room was filled with family, friends, laughter, and so much love. Milestone birthdays always remind me how important it is to document every season of life. Not just the big “I do” moments, but the celebrations that bring everyone together. Gina’s party was full of energy, joy, and memories that deserved to be captured.
From cliffs in Montauk, to rainy gardens in Oyster Bay, to a dance floor in New Hyde Park. This weekend was a reminder of why I love what I do so much. Every event was completely different, but each one told a beautiful story. I feel so lucky to be trusted to capture these once-in-a-lifetime moments for my clients.
