Some engagement sessions feel extra magical from the very beginning and Caroline & Tommy’s canoe session was exactly that.
A few months ago, @littlelovesphotographyny and I went scouting for unique locations for our Spring Mini Sessions when we stumbled upon the most peaceful little pond hidden away in nature. The second we saw it, we knew we had to bring a canoe there. What we didn’t fully think through at the time was the actual process of dragging a canoe down to the water 😂
Let me tell you… these sessions are truly a labor of love.
Between carrying the canoe, sweating through the setup, racing the sunset, and trying not to trip while hauling everything to the pond, these sessions definitely require effort but once Caroline & Tommy stepped into the canoe and the light started glowing across the water, every bit of it became worth it instantly.
Their session felt calm, romantic, playful, and cinematic all at once. The stillness of the water combined with golden hour light created the dreamiest atmosphere, and Caroline & Tommy made everything feel effortless. They laughed together, soaked in the moment, and completely trusted the process. Which always leads to the most authentic photos.
I’ve honestly become severely obsessed with these canoe sessions. There’s something so different about them compared to a traditional engagement session. They feel intimate, adventurous, and a little nostalgic all at the same time. It’s the kind of session that turns into an experience rather than just taking photos.
These canoe sessions are now available to book throughout the week right before sunset for couples looking for something unique and romantic. Because of the extra setup and transportation involved, there is an additional $100 canoe fee but if you’ve been dreaming of something straight out of a movie scene, this is absolutely for you.
