Some love stories begin with a first date, a mutual friend, or a chance meeting at a coffee shop. James and Paige’s story began somewhere much more unexpected, in a hospital.
James is a firefighter, and after being severely burned on the job, he found himself in the care of Paige, the nurse who helped him through his recovery. What started during an incredibly difficult and life-changing chapter eventually became something neither of them could have expected: a love story.
And now, they’re getting married this September. ❤️
I had the best time photographing James and Paige’s engagement session and getting to know the two of them before their wedding day. There’s something so special about photographing couples who already have so much history together, and these two made it incredibly easy to capture the connection between them.
Their story is such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most unexpected moments can lead us exactly where we’re meant to be.
From the very beginning, James and Paige’s relationship has been about showing up for one another. Paige was there for James during one of the hardest experiences of his life, and today they’re building a life together and preparing to officially become husband and wife.
Now, instead of meeting in a hospital room, they’re celebrating their engagement, planning their wedding, and looking forward to everything that comes next.
It’s hard not to get a little emotional thinking about how much can change in just a few years.
What began with Paige caring for James as his nurse turned into a friendship, a relationship, and eventually an engagement. Their journey is proof that love doesn’t always arrive in the way we expect it to.
And after hearing their story, it made their engagement session feel even more meaningful. These aren’t just photographs of two people who are getting married. They’re photographs of two people who have already walked through something significant together and come out on the other side stronger.
There is so much love, trust, and genuine connection between these two, and I loved being able to document that.
September will be here before we know it, and I cannot wait to see James and Paige officially become husband and wife.
Their engagement session was just one little chapter in their story. Soon, I’ll be there to photograph the next one. The happy tears, the excitement, the people they love most, and all of those little moments that make a wedding day uniquely theirs.
