Some couples have a story that unfolds over more than just one day, and I was lucky enough to document two unforgettable chapters of Daniel and Nicole's journey.
It all began at the breathtaking Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, where Daniel surprised Nicole with a proposal she would never forget. Surrounded by the estate's beautiful gardens, towering trees, and historic charm, he got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to marry him. The excitement, happy tears, and pure joy they shared in that moment made it an incredible experience to photograph.
The very next day, we met at Coopers Beach in Southampton to celebrate their newly engaged season with a relaxed engagement session by the ocean.
Coopers Beach provided the perfect backdrop for this next chapter. The soft sand, gentle waves, and golden evening light created a beautiful setting as Daniel and Nicole soaked in the excitement of being newly engaged. Without the nerves of the proposal, they were able to simply enjoy each other's company, laugh together, and celebrate everything that had just happened.
One of my favorite parts of photographing both the proposal and engagement session was seeing how much joy they carried into the next day. There was a sense of excitement and relief knowing the surprise had gone perfectly, allowing them to fully embrace this new chapter together.
As a Long Island engagement and proposal photographer, it's always an honor to tell a couple's story from beginning to end. Capturing both the moment someone says "yes" and the celebration that follows creates such a meaningful collection of memories that they'll be able to look back on for years to come.
